Trinity Buoy Wharf Wedding Photographer
Where do I start with this venue?! I love working in this fantastic space as a Trinity Buoy Wharf wedding photographer; an effortlessly cool London warehouse on the river opposite the O2, in the heart of docklands…. Oh, and it has its own lighthouse! The urban feel of the location, surrounded by towering skyscrapers and shipping containers creates opportunities for epic portraits at one of my favourite venues in the city.
Weddings at Trinity Buoy Wharf
At Trinity Buoy Wharf, couples can have their ceremony, reception and a massive party all in one place at the Chainstore and Riverside Terrace, accommodating up to 300 guests. It’s a light and airy space, a blank canvas that can be decorated in every way imaginable, although being so effortlessly cool it doesn’t need much. There’s even room for an iconic Airstream trailer and a crazy golf course on the forecourt in front of the building!
Trinity Buoy Wharf weddings happen in a part of London that I know very well. I’m a London wedding photographer and I live just over the river in Greenwich, so I often admire the famous Trinity Buoy Wharf lighthouse as I cycle along the river.
Romy & Tom’s Wedding at Trinity Buoy Wharf
I was pretty excited when Romy and Tom got in touch and asked me to join them as their Trinity Buoy Wharf wedding photographer. They planned for their wedding to be an international gathering of families, with a big emphasis on celebration and fun.
For Romy and Tom’s Trinity Buoy Wharf wedding photography, I wanted to make the most of the architectural features surrounding the venue to help frame interesting shots. The Riverside Terrace is the perfect setting for a summer wedding at Trinity Buoy Wharf, and the views down the Thames are stunning, especially at night as the lights of the city dance on the river and light up the night sky.
Getting ready
Before the celebration began, I joined Romy at the Town Hall Hotel in Bethnal Green, as she got ready with her bridesmaids. It’s always an important part of the day for me to build relationships and put everyone at ease, so they feel relaxed in front of the camera. Town Hall Hotel also hosts weddings and has become very popular for couples looking for something a bit different in the East End (it also has some cracking restaurants!).
Romy’s Dad had arranged for a super cool Jenson Interceptor as transport for the day, the luxury vintage car fit right in as it pulled up outside their Trinity Buoy Wharf wedding.
Trinity Buoy Wharf Wedding
Romy and Tom’s wedding at Trinity Buoy Wharf was a memorable experience from start to finish! From the singalong in the ceremony, to the one and half hour boat ride up and down the Thames. The gorgeous Riverside Terrace was used to great effect, giving them space to celebrate with their friends and family, including being able to play crazy golf. From now on I’m going to recommend all my couples have at least a 9-hole course! It was obvious how fun much everyone had at Romy & Tom’s Trinity Buoy Wharf wedding, they had huge smiles on their faces all day long.
Thanks as ever to Charley at London Bride for looking after us, and also to Rachel Manns who joined me as second photographer.
