This shot of Sofia was taken just after the wedding service at Islington Town Hall. As anyone who’s either been a guest or photographer at the town hall knows, it’s quite hectic and there’s usually one wedding after another. The corridor outside of the registrar’s meeting room may seem an unlikely location for a portrait but the first thing I always look for is the light and I couldn’t resist the combination of the hallway and the window light on Sofia’s right. We had to be quick as the corridor is in constant use and the registrars don’t seem to have much of a sense of humour when it comes to photographers, but it all adds to the excitement of a wedding day.
