I’m absolutely delighted to have one of my images featured on the cover of September’s issue of Professional Photographer magazine. The issue is all about weddings and also features an article on 20 Collective which is a very talented group of photographers that I’m proud to be a part of. The cover image was taken from Mekalie and Nick’s wedding which took place in Sarlat-la-Canéda in France. I’ll be blogging the full wedding soon but in the meantime here’s another shot of Mekalie.
I’m a bit obsessed with finding light that inspires me, especially during a couple’s portrait session. This shot was taken in a disused barn which was pretty dark and uninspiring apart from a small opening at one end which provided the light to create a high contrast shot which was particularly suited to black and white. The rest of their wedding was in bright sunshine in the French countryside! As a London wedding photographer I’m fairly used to shooting in challenging lighting, especially in the winter, so learning how to see the light has become a big part of what I do.
To see more of my work, check out my latest blog post which is a preview of Marissa & Carlos’s wedding in Tuscany at Villa Dievole.
