Jo & Paul’s le Manoir du Bout du Pont wedding
Last July I had the great pleasure of shooting Jo and Paul’s le Manoir du Bout du Pont wedding in the South West of France. Nestled on the border of the Dordogne and Lot et Garonne in Agnac, this is one of the most quaint and charming wedding venues I’ve had the pleasure of shooting at. This part of the France is very close to my heart and I’ve been lucky enough to make several trips to this region every year to photograph weddings in recent years. The laid back atmosphere of the area is obvious on arrival at the tiny Bergerac airport which feels like a different world compared to the busy UK airports only an hour and a half away. As soon as you land you quickly realise that the pace of life is very different and you’re in for a treat as you leave the airport and make your way through the beautiful Dordogne countryside and drive alongside one of Europe’s largest winding rivers. It’s hard not to feel relaxed but as a photographer it’s also a very exciting environment to shoot in.
As soon as Jo and Paul contacted me about their le Manoir du Bout du Pont wedding, I knew that it would be one that I love to shoot. They wanted a fun, relaxed wedding without stressing over the small details and they told me how they just wanted to have a great time celebrating with friends and family. Le Manoir du Bout du Pont fit their brief perfectly as its rustic calm and air of days gone by makes it an ideal venue for couples who want something with great indoor and outdoor space within a charming and relaxed atmosphere. It’s run by owners Angela and Roddy who first used this stunning manor house as a wedding venue for their own daughter. It was such a success that they realised it would make a special wedding venue to offer to discerning clients. You only have to read the testimonials on their website to see what high esteem they are held in by their clients. And the open top 2CV is a great touch that couples love.
It was a great privilege to be a part of Jo and Paul’s le Manoir du Bout du Pont wedding and I was made to feel very welcome and included in the day by all their friends and family. And I must also give a big shout out to their planner, Louise at Handmade Events, who I’ve had the pleasuring of working with on a few occasions and as ever she kept the day running smoothly with great professionalism and organisation so everyone had a great time.
If you’re getting married in France I’d love to hear from you via my contact form and also check out my page dedicated to French weddings which features some of my favourite weddings I’ve shot in France.
