As soon as Helaina and Dan booked me for their Chateau la Durantie wedding in the Dordogne I knew it was going to be the sort of wedding that lives long in the memory. Helaina had seen the photos that I’d taken of Clara and Jason’s wedding on Love my Dress and got in touch to see if I was available for her wedding. Not only did she book me, but she also asked Clara to design her hair piece as she a talented London jewellery designer. This was just the beginning of planning a wedding in France which was second to none in the care and creativity that went into making it a remarkable day.
As well as the styling and stunning surroundings of Chateau la Durantie, Helaina, Dan their family and friends celebrated with the laughter and tears that befitted the emotion of the day. The surprise fireworks at the end of the night were the perfect way for the day to finish.
Thanks so much to Helaina and Dan for having me along to document their big day. I’m always humbled by the feedback I get from couples and have shared a few lines from their email to me:
“WOW!!!!! We have been looking for hours! I need to start again at the beginning to take it all in properly. But just a quick note to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts. The are amazing!!!! We have opened our last bottle of wedding champagne which we had saved and chilled ready, especially for this moment and have been in tears of joy and fits of laughter all evening. Words can’t describe how incredible it is to be taken back to that beautiful, wonderful day. Every image is a work of art – thank you thank you thank you!”
Ian Baker-Top work as always, Rik. Love the quintessential French shot of the bride and groom, 2CV and the sunflowers. And of course the emotional groom in the church is a fab capture!December 30, 2016 – 12:43 pmReplyCancel
Helaina Storey-Rik, I have just spotted this on your blog! It’s so lovely to see the collection together in your choice of colour vs black and white. I just cant get enough of looking at these images over and over again and this shows them in a whole new light all over again. Hope you are well. Looking forward to getting together to talk album :) xxJanuary 30, 2017 – 5:53 pmReplyCancel
