Anne-Sophie and Ollie’s
Chateau d’Urval wedding in the Dordogne
“These are amazing. Thank you so much.”
Chateau d’Urval has a very fond place in my heart. It was where I shot my first French wedding back in 2012 and I’ve had the great privilege to return on countless occasions since. As a teenager I used to make regular trips to France and as an enthusiastic Francophone, I’d indulge myself in as much French culture as I could. But I was also studying German and chose to spend my year abroad at uni in Germany, so I missed out on an extended stay in France. Between then and 2012 life got in the way and apart from a couple of trips to Paris, I’d managed to avoid France altogether. I’ve made up for it since and rekindled my love of France and in particular shooting weddings in the Dordogne. So that’s a rather long winded way of saying how fortunate I feel every time I get a chance to shoot a wedding at Chateau d’Urval.
Anne-Sophie and Ollie’s wedding fulfilled every expectation and Chateau d’Urval provided a superb backdrop for an international gathering from UK and Holland. The weather was glorious all day which meant most of the day was either spent in the magnificent grounds of the Chateau with the evening meal taking place in the intimate courtyard. I’m sure the day flew by for Anne-Sophie and Ollie despite the party going on into the small hours, but their energy and joie de vivre were infectious as their friends and family had a blast!
Special thanks always go out to everyone at Chateau d’Urval for making it such a great experience for the couples who get married there. And as a side note they also look after the suppliers very well which is very much appreciated. And a big shout out to Lucy at Mise en Scène events for working her magic for planning and organising the day to perfection.
